Area Director of Sales & Catering Rochester, MN International Search Consultants is partnering with a well-established and growing hospitality organization to identify an Area Director of Sales & Catering . This is more than a traditional hotel sales leadership role; it is an opportunity to join the executive leadership team of a respected multi-property hospitality organization. The Director of Sales & Catering will oversee sales and catering operations across four hotel properties while leading a team of six sales professionals , driving strategic revenue growth, and partnering with executive leadership to shape the organization's long-term vision. This leadership position offers the opportunity to build upon an established foundation while implementing best practices, developing talent, and creating lasting organizational impact. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for Sales & Catering operations across four hotel properties, driving revenue growth, profitability, and market share. Develop and execute annual sales, catering, and business development strategies aligned with organizational goals. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of six Sales & Catering professionals, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture. Maintain an active sales territory while cultivating relationships with corporate clients, meeting planners, community partners, and key accounts to generate new business. Partner with Revenue Management, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Food & Beverage, and Executive Leadership to maximize hotel performance and deliver exceptional guest experiences. Oversee catering, conference services, and event operations, ensuring seamless execution from initial client engagement through post-event follow-up. Monitor sales performance, market trends, financial results, and business forecasts to identify growth opportunities and achieve revenue goals. Manage departmental budgets, forecasting, and financial performance while ensuring operational excellence and accountability. Represent the organization at industry events, networking functions, and within the local business community to strengthen market presence and strategic partnerships. Champion a culture of exceptional hospitality by ensuring outstanding client service and memorable event experiences. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field. 7+ years of progressive hotel sales experience, including leadership responsibility. Multi-property hospitality sales experience strongly preferred. Proven success driving group, corporate, catering, and event business. Experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams. Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long‑term planning and operational execution. Proficiency with hotel sales systems, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office. Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $130,000 – $145,000 , depending on experience. Annual performance bonus opportunity.
