Medical Assistant Gynecologic Oncology

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant (MA-C or MA-R) will support a Gynecologic Oncology Clinic by assisting with room setup for procedures, rooming patients, responding to patient inquiries within scope, collecting vitals and history, and coordinating care and patient navigation. The role ensures smooth clinic flow and timely delivery of treatments and tests for a sensitive patient population. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate with providers and care teams. Responsibilities:

• Prepare exam rooms and assist with clinical procedures.
• Room patients and collect vital signs and medical histories.
• Respond to patient inquiries via patient portal within scope of practice.
• Coordinate patient care and navigation to ensure timely treatments and testing.
• Support clinic flow and assist providers and advanced practice providers (APPs) as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient care.
• Perform charting and documentation using EPIC electronic medical records.
• Float within skillset to meet facility needs as required.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) or Registered Medical Assistant (MA-R) credential.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 6 months of relevant medical assistant experience.
• Reliable personal transportation for clinic duties.
• Ability to work effectively with a sensitive patient population in a gynecologic oncology setting.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in outpatient or oncology clinical settings.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Strong care coordination and patient navigation skills.

Special Considerations:

• Role is Temp to Perm; travelers considered but must be open to permanent placement.
• No weekend or on-call requirements.
• Providers spend approximately 50% time in OR and 50% in clinic, requiring flexible support.
• Strict adherence to clinic attendance and interview scheduling policies; no call no show may disqualify candidate.

Scheduling:

• Five 8-hour day shifts per week.
• Shift schedule and return-to-office policies to be confirmed with hiring manager.
