Tax Director

Description YOUR OPPORTUNITY: DIRECTOR OF TRUST OPERATIONS AND TAX We’re looking for a knowledgeable and driven leader to oversee our Trust Operations and Tax Department. In this role, you’ll serve as the in‑house expert on trust taxation and accounting, ensuring all processes are accurate, efficient, and compliant with regulatory and internal standards. You’ll play a key role in guiding both team members and clients through complex tax matters while continuously improving operations. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Lead and manage the Trust Operations and Tax team, ensuring high‑quality, timely, and efficient work. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, financial advisors, and internal teams on complex fiduciary tax matters. Conduct ongoing tax research and provide guidance on evolving tax and accounting regulations. Oversee fiduciary tax processes, including reviewing account coding and partnering with tax vendors to ensure accuracy. Ensure compliance with all bank policies, audit expectations, OCC requirements, and industry regulations. Monitor daily operations such as trade settlements, income posting, reconciliations, and fee processing. Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance client experience, and reduce risk. Support and recommend technology solutions to improve departmental effectiveness. Coach, mentor, and develop team members while managing performance and staffing needs. WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience). At least 5 years of experience preparing fiduciary and individual tax returns. IRS Registered Tax Return Preparer (RTRP) certification. Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team. Deep knowledge of fiduciary taxation, trust operations, and regulatory requirements. Ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly to clients and colleagues. Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement. Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
