The Prep Cook provides support to the Cooks and Catering Manager as needed.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWashes dishes as they are brought in.Maintains a clean and sanitary workspace at all times.Observes safety regulations and procedures.Maintains the cleanliness and safety of kitchen and of food storage areas.Assists Cooks and Catering Manager with prep work, wrapping, and storage as needed.Safely practices heavy lifting and carrying with the help of another person if necessary.Works for long periods on feet, including standing, walking, and stair climbingRepetitive movements such as pushing, pulling, bending, some stooping and twisting.Communicates clearly, including reading, writing and speakingWorks around and with heat sources such as oven and stovetop.Works around and with cleaning agents such as bleach and other caustic chemicals.Works around and with sharp objects such as knives.Completes daily cleaning of all surfaces including sinks, stovetops and sides, refrigerators on both interior and exterior, walls, counters and flooring.Completes daily closing duties, including:Cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, etc.Sweeping and moppingWorks efficiently in a high pace and potentially stressful environment.Interacts in a positive and professional manner with other employees, management, and consumers.Observes a fixed work schedule, and communicates any deviations from this schedule to a supervisor in advance.Completes other tasks as assigned by supervisor in a timely manner.Observe all other Luke-Dorf, Inc. policies and procedures.Qualifications:Employee must be able to pass a criminal background checkEmployee must maintain Oregon Food Handler’s CardEmployee must have previous experience working in the food service industryEmployee must have demonstrated knife skills, and safely handle knives and other sharp kitchen instrumentsAll of our job openings are located in Portland, Oregon, and the surrounding metro areas. #J-18808-Ljbffr New Narrative Ltd
