Job Description

We are looking for a very energetic and multitasking Medical Billing Accounting Assistant to join our billing team and work under the supervision of the Billing & Accounting Manager. This dedicated person will assist with completing billing-related activities on time, accurately, and with an emphasis on excellent customer service.

 

Duties & Responsibilities: Report to Billing & Accounting Manager

• Completing billing-related activities on time and accurately.
• Performing accounting procedures such as bills, costs and Eremit Processing.
• Keeping track of accounting records.
• Reviewing, writing and justifying charges
• Monitoring, confirming, and processing delinquent receipts.
• Collecting, processing, and allocating funds related to payments.
• Reconcile accounts receivable and payable balances
• Reconcile bank statements with company records.
• Identify discrepancies and resolve any issues promptly.
• Participating in charge capture such as patient registration, insurance verification, billing, and collections.
• Reconciling billing accounts.
• Ensuring timely and accurate submission of insurance claims and patient bills.
• Supervising the billing department staff, including training on behalf of the Billing Manager.
• Remaining updated on changes in healthcare billing and coding standards.
• Ensuring patient billing inquiries and complaints are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
• Assisting the Billing Manager on preparing documents for auditing.
• Helping the manager prepare financial statements, and reports.
• Assist with the preparation steps, as well as execute other tasks.

 

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, management, healthcare or other related field with at least 1 year of experience.

• Associate degree with at least 2 years of experience.
• Have at least 1 year of experience working in the medical field; Eye clinics and practices are preferred.

• 1 year of experience in medical coding and /or billing is a plus.
