Mechanical Designer
Location: Port Huron, Michigan]
We are seeking a Mechanical Designer with strong machine design experience to support the development of automated machinery, robotic work cells, assembly stations, actuators, and conveyor systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design automated equipment and robotic systems using SolidWorks 3D CAD .
- Create detailed mechanical designs, assemblies, layouts, drawings, and Bills of Material.
- Perform engineering calculations, component sizing, and material selection.
- Design and integrate hydraulic and pneumatic systems for custom automation equipment.
- Support manufacturing, assembly, installation, and troubleshooting activities.
- Collaborate with customers, vendors, sales, and internal teams to develop effective solutions.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical support for upgrades and retrofit projects.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of mechanical design experience in machinery, automation, or custom equipment.
- Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks (SolidWorks Simulation experience is a plus).
- Hands-on experience designing machinery with hydraulic and pneumatic systems .
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machine design principles, and component selection.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Experience in plastics, metals, or automated manufacturing environments is preferred.
Preferred Background
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience designing robotic assembly systems, material handling equipment, conveyors, or automated work cells.
