EVS Associate - Jefferson Bucks (Per Diem)

Job Details Per Diem Shift Time: 1pm-9:30pm; days vary and require rotating weekends. This Environmental Services (EVS) Associate aids in maintaining a high-quality standard of housekeeping by performing cleaning functions in assigned areas while following schedules and specific methods to provide patients, visitors, and staff with a sanitary, orderly, and safe patient care environment. Responsibilities Establish and maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in assigned areas by following departmental policies and procedures. Proper disposal of biohazards according to EPA and OSHA codes and regulations (including batteries, mercury thermometers, needles). Keep biohazard food and loading areas safe and free of debris. Maintain equipment (clean carts, buckets, floor machines, and supply closets) to give the hospital a professional appearance. Comply with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements to protect against exposure to blood, infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, and other hazardous substances. Follow hospital/departmental policy on hand hygiene. Complete and maintain all carpet and hard surface flooring as per departmental procedures. Observe safety precautions when pushing equipment and report faulty mechanical, structural, or electrical problems. Utilize wet floor signs to prevent slippage and perform duties in compliance with safety policy. Communicate with patients and visitors using scripting to establish dialogue and extend courtesy. Assist with moving furniture, equipment, supplies, recycling, and set-ups as requested. Respond to pages or phone calls promptly and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: High School Graduate or equivalent (preferred). Experience: 6 months to 1 year of housekeeping or cleaning experience in a healthcare environment is preferred but not required.
