Our products include molecular sampling kits for the genome and microbiome, and rapid diagnostics for infectious disease.The Senior Facilities Engineer is responsible for the design, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of facility infrastructure, including HVAC systems, support equipment, and utility systems serving both cleanroom and general office environments. This role ensures compliance with GMP and internal standards while maintaining optimal environmental conditions required for high quality manufacturing, research, and administrative operations.This position combines strong technical expertise in HVAC, support equipment and cleanroom systems with proven leadership capabilities to manage teams, drive operational excellence, support strategic facility initiatives, and lead capital and maintenance-related projects along with day to day facilities support.Snapshot of Responsibilities:HVAC & FacilitiesLead the operation, maintenance, and optimization of HVAC systems supporting cleanroom environmentsMaintain control of temperature, humidity, airflow, pressurization, and filtrationSupport controlled room HEPA certification activities for multiple facilitiesManage building systems through BMS/EMS platformsTroubleshoot system issues and lead root cause investigationsPreventive Maintenance & ReliabilityOwn and manage the preventive maintenance (PM) program for critical systems, including HVAC, cleanrooms, compressed air, facility generators, and water purification systemsEnsure maintenance activities are compliant, documented, and effectiveDevelop lifecycle asset management strategies.Develop predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliabilityFacilities OperationsOversee daily building operations, including maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and infrastructure systemsOversee facilities cleaning programIdentify and prioritize maintenance needs across all facilities.Projects & Capital ImprovementsLead facility and HVAC-related capital projects from planning through execution.Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and contractor performanceServe as primary liaison between internal teams and contractorsVendor & Contractor ManagementSource, negotiate, and oversee third-party service providers (janitorial, landscaping, security, etc.).Coordinate contractors across GMP and non-GMP projectsEnsure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standardsLeadership & Team DevelopmentLead and develop facilities and HVAC teamsEstablish performance expectations and training programs.Collaborate cross-functionally with maintenance, production, quality, and engineering teams.Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvementAct as subject matter expert (SME) for HVAC and cleanroom systemsBudget & PlanningManage departmental operating budgets and approve expendituresMonitor utility usage and maintenance costsSupport long-range space planning and facility optimization initiativesWhat you bring:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.5–10+ years of facilities engineering experience.Knowledge of HVAC systems, including HEPA filtration.Strong understanding of airflow, pressurization, and contamination control.Experience with BMS, EMS, CMMS, or ERP systems (SAP preferred).Experience with commissioning, and qualification processes.Project and contractor managementLeadership and team developmentProblem-solving and root cause analysisExperience in cleanroom environments (pharma, biotech, or medical device).Experience in regulated environments (GMP).$75,000 - $129,000 a year The base salary range for this full-time position is $75,000 - $129,000. The range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base salary for the position, based on our defined salary pay ranges.
