Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary Multiple openings are available for respiratory therapy positions in both day and night shifts, with options for full‑time, part‑time, or part‑time casual (PRN). A sign‑on bonus is eligible: Full‑time – $10,000; Part‑time – $5,000. This position administers diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to facilitate the patient's breathing, evaluates respiratory care for appropriateness and effectiveness, and communicates findings to other health‑care professionals. The role may also perform the responsibilities of a charge therapist in the absence of the manager or supervisor. Responsibilities and Duties Administers MDI, medication nebulization, posture drainage, positive‑pressure breathing, mechanical ventilation, oxygen and aerosol therapy, and incentive spirometry. Observes patients during treatments, performs auscultation, checks pulse and respiratory rate, and records pertinent data on patient charts. Notifies medical or nursing personnel of adverse reactions. Prepares for patient treatment by receiving orders, reviewing requests, prioritizing work assignments, gathering necessary materials, and explaining treatments to patients. Maintains patient airway, including use of artificial airway, and performs intubation in emergency situations per care‑site policy. Performs invasive procedures such as suctioning and arterial blood‑gas sampling/analysis to ensure proper airway function and provide diagnostic data. Responds to stat calls, codes, emergency response calls (RAT, RRT, etc.), participates in trauma and resuscitation procedures, and assists with transport of patients requiring ventilator support. Acts as charge therapist in the absence of the manager or supervisor. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s Degree (Required) DL‑HC Driver’s License (only if in a Home Care department) NBRC/NBC‑RRT registry; Ohio License (Ohio Limited Permit acceptable) CPR Certification Respiratory Care or Certificate of Program Completion in Respiratory Care For Home Care positions: valid state driver’s license, minimum 18 years of age, acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), and proof of insurance if applicable. Work Shift and Hours Variable shift schedule with weekly hours to be scheduled. Positions are available in the Pulmonary Services Department.
