Position Overview As a Labor position at Siemens Mobility, you will support a broad range of activities in a dynamic, high‑energy production environment with a strong focus on safety and quality in the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless‑steel car bodies for the best rail vehicles in the world. Shift: Monday - Thursday, 5:30am - 4:00pm. What your day-to-day will look like Through a variety of methods, move material between locations and departments and outside storage. Receive work assignments, oral and/or written instructions, from supervision. Operate forklift trucks and/or manually push pallet jacks to move within or between designated areas: trash, and dump scrap into larger scrap containers at designated areas. Operate fork truck to move larger scrap containers from designated areas. Operate floor cleaner, vehicle sweeper throughout the facility to maintain good housekeeping. Assist in maintaining and keeping work area and equipment in a neat, safe, clean, and orderly condition. Perform other related work as assigned and directed. Assist in maintaining a clean organized facility through excellent housekeeping skills. To thrive in this role, you have High school education or state recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education. Valid driver’s license. Forklift experience preferred. Must have basic English skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, contracted services and other employees within the Company. Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and technical documentation. Physical Demands Candidates should be comfortable working in a non‑climate‑controlled environment when required. Job duties may require standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using hands to handle objects or tools. Frequent verbal communication is necessary; occasional tasks may involve detecting odors. Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds is required.
