- Create Custom Treatment Plans: Assess individual patient needs and formulate tailored therapy approaches that support functional achievements.
- Implement Therapeutic Techniques: Employ evidence-based strategies to enhance patients' physical abilities, cognitive skills, and daily activities.
- Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work in unison with fellow occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, physicians, and nursing staff to provide comprehensive and holistic care.
- Guide Patients and Their Families: Educate patients and their caregivers on various therapy methods to promote progress outside the clinical setting.
- Track and Record Progress: Monitor patient development and document outcomes effectively, making adjustments to treatment as necessary to keep them on track.
- Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Ongoing education and certifications are encouraged and supported.
- Active Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) license in Hawaii.
- Certification from the NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) is mandatory.
