Substation Project Engineer

Wectec Staffing Services is seeking a Substation Project Engineer on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment (W-2) with the Engineering & Construction Business Unit in Juno Beach, FL. You will lead a team of engineers and technical specialists that perform engineering functions. Responsible for all assigned renewable generation substation projects from conception through construction and commissioning. You will evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional renewable generation substation projects. This substation project engineering position will occasionally require driving to multiple renewable generation substation projects across Florida. You will report to the onsite manager.

Location: Juno Beach, FL preferred but open to Remote

Key Responsibilities:

• In the conceptual phase, work with the Early-Stage Project Manager to support the engineering requirements and scope with the Development Group.
• Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
• Conduct project meetings and be responsible for project tracking and analysis.
• Provide information to internal and external clients on moderate to complex issues.
• Coordinate with other project team members to develop and secure a substation site, support any engineering updates, data, and permits necessary to design and build the substation.
• Coordinate with other groups to ensure that the assigned E&C renewable generation substation projects are successful.

Qualifications:

• Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
• Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural engineering
• 4+ years' experience in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation projects is helpful.
• Project Engineering and Project Management experience.
• PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline.
• Some travel required within North America.

The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $45.00/hr. to $50.00/hr.
