Senior Substation Project Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Substation Project Engineer on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment (W-2). You will lead a team of engineers and technical specialists that perform engineering functions. You will apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and related fields. You will evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional renewable generation substation projects. You will report to the onsite Manager. Travel between worksites and other locations is an essential job function and expectation of the position. You must hold a valid driver's license. We will expect you to spend a portion of your time attending meetings at other worksites or in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• All assigned renewable generation substation projects from conception (Early Stage) through construction and commissioning (Execution).
• In the conceptual phase, you will work with the Early-Stage Project Manager to support the engineering requirements and scope with the Development Group.
• Projects can begin as FERC 1000 transmission project proposals, or as greenfield projects.
• Coordinating the engineering deliverables to support FERC Order 1000 request for proposals, and the design and construction of awarded projects.
• Support Transmission Services during the review of interconnection documentation. This documentation includes system impact studies, facility studies, reactive and harmonic studies, and Interconnection agreements.
• Will ensure that Transmission Owner requirements and E&C engineering design are consistent and in compliance with all ISO requirements and incorporated into the project design.

Qualifications:

• Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
• Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
• Certified Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural engineering
• 6+ years' experience in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation projects.
• Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience with PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline.

The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $55.00/hr. to $60.00/hr.
