Sr. Licensed Practical Nurse - Per Diem

Overview Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC), established in 1971, offers a full continuum of evidence‑based behavioral health and addiction services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors throughout New Jersey. Responsibilities Contribute to nursing assessment, care planning, and treatment plan development. Perform all nursing procedures within scope of practice and position requirements. Document all aspects of patient care in the EMR. Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, demonstrating concern and courtesy. Maintain patient safety, comfort, and cleanliness. Initiate emergency procedures as needed. Clean and maintain equipment daily and keep the department orderly. Manage inventory of supplies and order items as necessary. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience: Three (3) years of relevant experience as an LPN. Certifications/Licenses: Valid and current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Demonstrated competency in venipuncture techniques. Strong clinical nursing skills and excellent communication. Proficiency in PC word processing and leadership abilities. Physical Demands Position requires standing two‑thirds of the time, walking two‑thirds of the time, with the remaining one‑third sitting. Tasks include using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and speaking or hearing over two‑thirds of the time. Work environment may involve moderate noise, exposure to blood‑borne and airborne pathogens, patient crises, and occasional assaultive behaviors.
