Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, you will deliver essential direct patient care under the supervision of our clinical team. Leveraging your knowledge of basic patient care principles and medical terminology, you will perform a range of daily duties.


Every day you will actively assist patients with personal care, mobility, and feeding, monitoring vital signs, documenting observations, and maintaining a therapeutic and organized patient environment. You will also work closely with the nursing team to prepare patients for procedures or transport.


To be successful in this role requires a genuine passion for patient well-being, diligence in executing tasks, keen observational skills regarding patient conditions, and a proactive approach to continuous learning and professional development.

• Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested
• Assists with patient admission, discharge and transfer
• Assists in patient/equipment preparation, and retrieves necessary equipment and supplies
• Documents clinically relevant findings in the patient's record according to hospital protocols
• Prepares patients for transportation to other departments/areas when STAT or as necessary

Required

• Completion of nursing assistant or EMT program, or completion of first block of nursing program
• Certified Nursing Assistant: AZ or Emergency Medical Technician: AZ
• American Heart Association BLS
