Part 2: Artifacts Submission (Form sent after Part 1 submission): Two years of end‑of‑year evaluation data (2024‑2025 and 2025‑2026) Recommendation Form (Emailed to Principal/Supervisor) Primary Purpose Reach Associates (RAs) are advanced paraprofessionals who support Multi‑Classroom Leaders (MCLs) on Opportunity Culture campuses. MCLs give heavy guidance on lessons to assist the RA in daily responsibilities. They work closely with the teacher to complete various tasks, including classroom support with students and non‑instructional paperwork. They manage procedures and supervise student behavior during transitions, lunch, recess, assemblies, and other unstructured activities while teachers deliver instruction. In some schools, they aid instruction by supervising time on projects, skill practice, digital learning labs, or working with students in small groups or individually. The MCL or team teachers direct all activities. Qualifications Required: Minimum of 48 earned college credits Previous experience working with children Three years of experience in a K‑12 school setting Preferred: Educational Aide Certificate Seeking a Bachelor’s Degree in Education Bilingual Special Knowledge / Skills Relationship‑centered – Able to work effectively with people who have different cultural backgrounds and/or personal characteristics Knowledge of the subject matter being taught Major Responsibilities And Duties Classroom and School Environment Hold students accountable for high expectations of behavior and engagement that are ambitious and measurable Contribute to a culture of respect, enthusiasm, and rapport Manage student behavior during transitions and less structured time (e.g., recess, lunch) Monitor independent work time in the classroom while the teacher provides instruction Instruction (if applicable) Tutor small groups and individuals Supervise projects, skill practice, and digital learning Professional Responsibilities Solicit and receive feedback from supervisor and team members to improve professional skills Maintain administrative duties on behalf of the teacher (taking attendance, entering grades, scheduling parent conferences, preparing student activities and assignments, checking homework, and additional paperwork) Collaborate with teacher(s), tutor(s), and digital lab monitor(s), when applicable Participate in professional development opportunities Communicate with parents under the guidance of the MCL Working Conditions The job requires physical mobility, standing, prolonged sitting, some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. It also requires traveling within the district and statewide. Mental demands include problem solving, interpreting data, policy and research, effective oral and written communication, and maintaining emotional control under stress. A flexible schedule and after‑hour events are required. Special Funding This position is funded by Federal and/or State grants. Employment is conditioned on the availability of full funding. If full funding becomes unavailable, employment may be subject to termination, nonrenewal, or reassignment. Federal Time and Effort Reporting The employee in this position is assigned 100% to the federal and state program responsibilities and duties stated in this job description.
