Job Summary:

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) delivers critical, high-quality nursing care to patients across the lifespan in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The role emphasizes rapid assessment, stabilization, and intervention to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based nursing interventions.
  
  
• 
  Recognize clinical changes in patient conditions promptly and escalate care as necessary.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications and treatments safely, accurately, and in accordance with provider orders and organizational policies.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and coordinate patient care activities, including referrals and follow-up.
  
  
• 
  Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in electronic health records.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families on care, medications, and discharge instructions, ensuring culturally responsive communication.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an associates degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  
  
• 
  Possess a current, unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska.
  
  
• 
  Maintain certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NRP, obtained within six months of hire.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate clinical competency within 3 months of employment and recurring every 3 years.
  
  
• 
  Be able to work independently in a high-pressure environment with strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
