Job Summary:
The Cardiac and Renal Unit Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Evansville, Indiana. This role involves providing care for high-acuity telemedicine and medical-surgical patients, with a focus on cardiac and nephrology assessments. The position requires candidates to bring their license on the first day of employment. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Job Details:

• Location: Evansville, Indiana
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shift times from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a Minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Certifications: Must have current active compact license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Required Qualifications: Two or more years of strong Cardiac/Telemetry experience; at least one travel assignment completed; trauma Level II experience; recent Electronic Medical Record (EPIC) experience required; associate degree or certification eligibility; Indiana or compact license.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience interpreting 12-lead electrocardiograms (EKG), initiating and titrating drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, amino acids, etc.), and managing nephrostomy tubes. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills are necessary.
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with an expected schedule of three weekends out of every six weeks and every other holiday.
• Float Requirements: First to float within skill set to Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus and potentially to Deaconess Henderson (KY); cross-campus and mid-shift float possible with 2 hours' notice.
• Additional Information: Candidates are required to pass tele-test assessments for Telemetry/EKG interpretation; may be involved in precepting students or new hires; COVID-19 vaccination not required but subject to change.
