Assignment Details

• Shift: Nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Schedule: 3x12-Hour Shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Weekly
• 48-Hour Contracts Available Upon Request
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Start Dates: 6/29 or 7/6
• Clinical Interview Required

Position Overview

Join a busy Medical Surgical unit within a respected teaching hospital known for its supportive leadership and strong teamwork. This assignment is ideal for experienced Med Surg travelers who excel in fast-paced environments and possess strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient management skills.

Patient Population

• Post-Surgical Patients
• Urinary Tract Infections (UTI)
• Sepsis
• COPD
• CHF
• High Fall-Risk Patients
• General Medical-Surgical Population

Unit Information

• 41-Bed Medical Surgical Unit
• Day Shift Ratio: 1:4–5
• Night Shift Ratio: 1:6–7
• Strong CNA Support
• Experienced Unit Leadership
• Teaching Hospital Environment

Requirements

• Active Compact RN License
• AHA BLS Certification
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 Years of Recent Med Surg Experience
• Minimum 1 Completed Travel Assignment
• Trauma Level II Experience Required
• Recent EPIC Experience Required

Scheduling & Float Expectations

• Three weekends every six-week schedule period
• Every other holiday required
• First to float within skill set
• Potential floating to:
  • Deaconess Gateway (Newburgh, IN)
  • Deaconess Henderson (KY)
• Two-hour notice for cross-campus floating
• Mid-shift floating within campus may occur

Additional Information

• No local candidates within a 40-mile radius
• EPIC competency validation required
• Teaching hospital environment
• Travelers may be asked to precept students and new hires
• Three call-ins may result in contract termination
• No competing health system or agency logos on scrubs
• COVID-19 vaccine not currently required (subject to change)
