Position Summary

As a Server, you'll be responsible for creating an outstanding guest experience by providing friendly, attentive, and efficient service from the moment guests arrive until they leave. You'll guide guests through our food and beverage menu, make recommendations, ensure accurate order entry, deliver exceptional hospitality, and work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to provide a fun, seamless dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly with a friendly, welcoming attitude.

• Build genuine connections with guests and create memorable experiences.

• Learn and confidently explain menu items, cocktails, beer selections, and daily specials.

• Make food and beverage recommendations based on guest preferences.

• Accurately enter orders into the POS system.

• Deliver food and beverages promptly while ensuring accuracy and presentation.

• Monitor tables throughout the dining experience, anticipating guest needs and providing timely refills and service.

• Maintain knowledge of current promotions, events, leagues, and entertainment offerings.

• Process guest payments accurately and efficiently.

• Maintain clean and organized dining areas before, during, and after service.

• Follow responsible alcohol service guidelines and verify identification when required.

• Communicate effectively with kitchen, bar, hosts, runners, and fellow team members.

• Assist with opening, side work, and closing duties as assigned.

• Help maintain cleanliness, organization, and a positive team environment.

• Uphold The Sandbox's standards for hospitality, professionalism, and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Previous serving or hospitality experience preferred but not required.

• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.

• Friendly, outgoing personality with a passion for hospitality.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong multitasking and organizational skills.

• Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods.

• Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude.

• Basic math skills and ability to accurately handle payments.

• Reliable transportation.

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of serving experience.

• Experience in a sports bar, casual dining restaurant, brewery, or entertainment venue.

• Knowledge of beer, wine, cocktails, and responsible alcohol service.

• Experience using Toast POS or similar restaurant systems.

• Knowledge of responsible alcohol service and Kansas liquor laws.

• Passion for hospitality and creating unforgettable guest experiences.
