Legal Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support to the legal team for management of the Dodge & Cox Funds and Dodge & Cox Worldwide Funds (Irish UCITS) boards, including producing board materials and preparing for board meetings.
• Assist attorneys in preparation and filing of regulatory reports, updates to registration statements, prospectuses, Form ADV, and other state and international filings.
• Prepare and review contracts, including investment management agreements, confidentiality agreements, and vendor contracts.
• Maintain the firm’s vendor contract database and organize the legal department’s internal SharePoint site, ensuring user experience, metadata, data integrity and controls.
• Identify opportunities to use generative AI tools to improve legal workflow efficiency and assist department members in adopting tools in line with firm policies.
• Manage projects within the legal department, coordinating cross‑department tasks and stakeholders, tracking risks, documenting progress, reviewing deliverables for quality control, and ensuring project milestones.

Project Management Responsibilities

• Project management throughout the lifecycle, working closely with the project owner.
• Create and oversee detailed project plans detailing the path to successful implementation.
• Coordinate tasks and resources across teams, monitoring overall progress.
• Coordinate project tasks, milestones, and their interdependencies.
• Track risks and issues.
• Manage stakeholder communications and gather inputs across departments and third parties.
• Manage required documentation for the project.
• Review new deliverables for overall quality control.

Qualifications

• Four‑year college degree with an excellent academic record.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience, preferably in a legal, compliance, operations role or as a project manager at an asset manager or other financial services company.
• Intellectually curious, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a highly collaborative environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong emotional intelligence.
• Keen attention to detail and highly organized with ability to handle multiple projects and priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; experience with relevant regulatory and industry websites is desirable.
• Experience using generative AI tools to support research, drafting, and organizational tasks is highly desirable.
• Strong data‑analysis skills, demonstrated proficiency in Excel, and comfort working with spreadsheets.

Salary & Benefits

Salary range: $110,000–$140,000. Base salary only; discretionary bonus may be an important portion of total remuneration. Dodge & Cox offers competitive benefits including 100% coverage of all healthcare premiums for employees and families, and fully funds a retirement plan at 25% of total compensation up to the IRS limit.
