We are looking for two (2) Construction Project Managers Overview Are you a skilled Construction Project Manager who thrives on bringing building renovations and capital maintenance projects to life? Do you pride yourself on delivering high-quality work on time and within budget? If so, we would love to welcome you to Multnomah County’s Facilities and Property Management (FPM) division! Our Capital Improvement team cares for over 3.1 million square feet of space across 130+ County buildings—including libraries, health clinics, courts, administrative offices, and community shelters. In this role, you will lead vital building system upgrades, tenant improvements, and client-focused renovations. While projects are typically valued under $600,000, you will also have the opportunity to head larger, multi-million-dollar initiatives that directly support our local community. We are hiring two Construction Project Managers; one regular position and one limited duration (LDA). The Limited Duration Appointment (LDA) is expected to last up to 2 years, though it may end at any time. Key Responsibilities As a Construction Project Manager, you will oversee projects from initial concept through successful completion. Your daily impact will include: Project Planning & Development: Define project scopes, establish and manage budgets, develop realistic schedules, and oversee consultant selection. Collaborative Design & Coordination: Partner closely with architects, external consultants, and our skilled internal FPM trade crews to ensure all design documents align with County specifications. Contracting & Administration: Navigate public contracting guidelines, prepare bid invitations, manage contracts and change orders, and review payment approvals. Active Construction Management: Coordinate on-site work with FPM trade crews and contractors. Secure building permits, inspections, and final sign-offs. Estimate budget and schedule impacts from any design or owner changes. Proactively minimize construction impacts (such as noise, dust, and access limits) to keep County programs running smoothly. Relationship Building: Serve as a trusted, communicative liaison between County departments, project stakeholders, and community partners. Multi-Project Leadership: Successfully balance and prioritize multiple active projects at various stages of completion.
