Requirements / Qualifications The Soccer Head Coaching position is currently being offered at Redwood Middle School. Candidates should be experienced in the sport, have coaching experience, and have a resume of working with student‑athletes. Redwood Middle School desires to select a coach who is committed to developing young athletes both on and off the field. Applicants will be required to obtain First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Concussion in Sports and NFHS Heat and Illness prevention, as well as all other Napa Valley Unified School District Human Resources required documents. The season begins in February and lasts five weeks. The coach receives a district stipend at the end of the season. Duties include: Planning a five‑week schedule and conducting daily practice Managing equipment and traveling with the team to away games Developing positive relationships with parents and players Planning end‑of‑season awards and recognition Must have basic knowledge of the following: Character‑building aspects of sports, including techniques and methods of teaching and reinforcing core values such as sportsmanship and good character Knowledge of physical capacities and limitations of the age group coached Coaching principles related to educational philosophy, adolescent psychology, nutrition, risk management, and the rules and strategies of the sport Application Requirements All candidates who wish to be considered can apply through Ed Join.
