Careers Transportation Intern - Bridge Frisco, Texas Our experienced, fast-paced Frisco, TX Bridge Team is seeking a civil engineering student for an internship. This intern will be mentored by our dynamic team and exposed to many aspects of bridge design, bridge rehabilitation and replacement, and inspection for a variety of projects. Internship Description Further develop skills learned in the classroom by participating in the design of steel and reinforced concrete structures Become familiar with AASHTO LRFD and other standards used in bridge design Be an active member in developing plans for all components of bridges (layouts, substructures, superstructures), typically in Bentley’s MicroStation Visit the site of a bridge being actively constructed to strengthen understanding of what is detailed in plans Successful candidate will be able to read and interpret design codes, communicate effectively, and be willing to learn Garver Launch Program Elevate your summer experience with our immersive hands-on intern development program. Requirements Must be pursuing a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program Strong interest in structural design Proficient in Microsoft Office Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong team player with commitment to becoming a key member of this highly productive design team Preferred Skills Previous internship experience Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation Previous structural undergrad course related work Work Environment This is an in-office position; duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office setting. Occasional travel to offsite locations to perform work and work-related tasks or to attend meetings may be required.
