Registered Nurse - Day Surgery and Preoperative Holding

Location: Chattanooga, TN

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM; 3-12 hour shifts or 4-10 hour shifts available. One closing day per week with start times at 5:30 AM unless it is a closing day.

Job Description: The Registered Nurse will be responsible for preparing surgical patients for surgery and providing phase 2 recovery care in the Day Surgery and Preop holding units. A focus on teamwork and positive patient experiences is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare surgical patients for procedures.
• Provide phase 2 recovery care for surgical patients.
• Utilize cardiac monitors, ultrasound, and EKG machines as part of patient monitoring.
• Assist with procedures such as nerve blocks, arterial lines, and central lines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• IV start skills and moderate sedation experience are required.
• Experience in preoperative holding and phase 2 recovery.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
