Work Environment This position offers a flexible remote work setting, allowing you to maintain a balanced work-life integration while serving our community's elderly population. You will join a supportive team of healthcare professionals dedicated to collaborative practices that focus on evidence-based approaches to mental health care. Our regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying specific care needs and underlying issues that may require intervention. Provide individual and group counseling sessions, offering therapeutic support for seniors navigating emotional struggles related to aging and significant life transitions. Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop comprehensive and personalized care plans for geriatric residents, ensuring their mental health needs are effectively integrated with physical health care strategies. Educate families and healthcare staff about techniques and strategies to enhance the emotional well-being and overall quality of life for elderly clients. Facilitate grief counseling sessions for residents and their families, offering support as they process end-of-life challenges. Implement cognitive stimulation programs and tailored mental health interventions aimed at promoting mental acuity and reducing cognitive decline in older adults. Patient Population / Client Focus Your primary focus will be on counseling seniors who face various mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, and grief. You will work with clients experiencing significant life transitions and those coping with aging-related issues. By providing tailored interventions, you will enhance emotional resilience and improve the overall mental health landscape for our elderly population. Qualifications A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution. A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification. A minimum of four years of recent experience in geriatric counseling or related mental health support roles. Thorough knowledge of evidence-based practices and interventions in geriatric mental health. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with elderly clients and their families. Proficiency in conducting assessments and developing tailored treatment plans that address the emotional and mental health needs of senior clients. Preferred Experience Additional training or specialization in aging-related mental health issues. Experience delivering counseling services specifically designed for clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Familiarity with local resources available for elderly mental health support and community services. Compensation and Benefits The salary for this position ranges from USD 65,000 to 95,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
