Position Overview We are currently seeking a dedicated Licensed Independent Mental Health Counselor to become a vital part of our innovative psychiatric practice based in Quincy, Massachusetts. Work Environment This role allows for a flexible remote working environment, supporting our clinicians in maintaining a healthy work-life balance while effectively reaching out to clients. Operating during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, our practice enables meaningful engagement with clients in a structured yet adaptable setting aimed at maximizing therapeutic effectiveness. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments to identify clients' specific eating disorder symptoms, co-existing mental health challenges, and specify individualized treatment needs. Collaborate with clients to develop tailored treatment strategies based on comprehensive assessments, focusing on achievable short- and long-term goals for recovery. Deliver evidence-based therapy modalities, specifically Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), effectively engaging clients within sessions. Lead therapeutic discussions to help clients address and reshape distorted beliefs surrounding body image, disordered eating patterns, and self-worth. Equip clients with healthy coping skills, emotional regulation strategies, and tools to combat disordered eating behaviors, thereby fostering resilience in their recovery journey. Work alongside a multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure holistic care coordination and seamless continuity of treatment services for all clients. Provide psychoeducational resources to clients and their families, enhancing their understanding of eating disorders and supporting a structured recovery atmosphere. Maintain meticulous records of client progress, treatment plans, and therapy sessions, complying with all legal and ethical documentation requirements. Engage in ongoing team meetings, case conferences, and professional development opportunities to continually enhance your clinical expertise in the treatment of eating disorders. Patient Population / Client Focus This position primarily addresses the needs of individuals coping with various eating disorders, including but not limited to anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder. Our therapeutic interventions are designed to assist clients not only in addressing their relationship with food and body image but also in navigating the emotional intricacies that accompany these disorders; Qualifications A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited academic institution is required. A current and valid professional licensure (LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT) in the state of Massachusetts is essential for this role. Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as CBT, DBT, and ACT is crucial for the effective treatment of our clients. A solid understanding of the complexities associated with eating disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions is necessary. Exceptional communication skills with an ability to build rapport and trust with diverse client populations will be vital. Preferred Experience A minimum of two years of direct clinical counseling experience in the mental health field, specifically concerning eating disorders, is preferred. Experience in working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary treatment team is a valued asset. Compensation and Benefits The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 104,000, commensurate with experience and specialized skills.
