Vehicle CAD Manager Lunar Permanence

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit which develops Blue Origins Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origins mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists technicians and engineers you will lead a team of drafters and design engineers in the creation maintenance and release of part assembly and install CAD models for the Transfer Stage Vehicle within the Lunar Permanence Business Unit.

You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Leading a team of designers in generating integrating and releasing CAD models

• Recruit hire manage and mentor team
• Manage your teams professional development (e.g. coaching routine one-on-one development conversations performance reviews and promotion management)
• Develop tools and processes to improve team capability and performance
• Develop robust plans meeting deliverables and manage to the key operating metrics - including technical schedule and risk
• Monitor technical progress requirements schedule deliverables and risks as well as review recommendations for change with program management
• Communicate progress to leadership team
• Utilize good engineering and business judgement to ensure the most efficient and effective product is designed manufactured procured tested qualified and delivered

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related technical subject area
• 10 years directly related experience
• Experience with CAD (Creo) PLM (Windchill) and GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
• In depth understanding of CAD modeling and engineering principles
• Track record of delivering complex products on schedule and in budget
• Excellent verbal written and graphical communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with aerospace vehicle design
• Experience with critical path scheduling
• Experience interviewing and hiring for technical roles

Base Pay Range for:

CA applicants is $150743.00 - $211039.50 CO applicants is $138181.00 - $193453.05 WA applicants is $150743.00 - $211039.50
