What You'll Do

As a CNC Machinist, you'll play a critical role in transforming raw materials into precision-engineered components while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and customer specifications
• Confirm proper material selection before production
• Set up and operate horizontal profile milling machines using conversational programming
• Monitor machine performance and adjust setups as necessary
• Ensure finished parts meet dimensional and quality requirements
• Use precision measuring equipment to inspect parts throughout the machining process

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications

• 2-3 years of CNC machining experience
• Experience operating CNC mills and machining equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience performing quality inspections and dimensional checks
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools, including:
  • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Inspection gauges
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with supervisors and team members
• Commitment to quality, accuracy, and workplace safety

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Tekna CNC profile mills or similar equipment
• Familiarity with 3-axis CNC machining operations
• Experience working with aluminum materials
• Understanding of low-tolerance machining requirements (typically ±0.01)
• Strong sense of accountability and ownership over completed work
• Experience performing multiple setups throughout a shift

Work ScheduleFirst Shift

Flexible scheduling available between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Coordinate what works best with your schedule!

This is a full-time role (40 hours/week).

Work Environment

Join a modern, well-maintained facility featuring multiple Horizontal CNC Profile Mills and a team dedicated to quality and continuous improvement.

What You Can Expect

• Clean, organized manufacturing environment
• Approximately 80% machine operation and 20% inspection/preparation work
• Typical production runs lasting 2-5 hours
• Multiple setups each shift, providing variety in daily work
• Primarily machining aluminum components
• Minimal tooling changes for streamlined production
• Cross-training opportunities on additional equipment, including the Panel Router

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Dundee, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
