CNC Setup Machinist - 2nd shift

2nd Shift CNC Setup Machinist (Schaumburg, IL)
Salary Range: $27/hr. - $35/hr
Hours: 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM 11:30 PM , typically 40 hours a week.

We are seeking a skilled CNC Setup Machinist to join a well-organized, climate-controlled manufacturing environment operating 30+ CNC machines. This role is ideal for an experienced machinist who can independently set up and optimize CNC equipment and support production across multiple machines.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Adjust speeds, feeds, tooling, and CNC programs as needed
• Perform in-process and first-piece inspections using precision measuring tools
• Support production by working across multiple machines as required
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of CNC setup experience in a metal manufacturing environment
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills
• Experience with micrometers, calipers, and other inspection tools
• Ability to independently set up machines without step-by-step instruction

Preferred

• Experience with Okuma, Mazak, or similar CNC platforms
• Exposure to CNC programming (Mastercam, Fusion 360)
• Fixturing or tooling experience
