CNC Setup Machinist - 2nd shift

2nd Shift CNC Setup Machinist (Schaumburg, IL) Salary Range: $27/hr. - $35/hr Hours: 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM 11:30 PM , typically 40 hours a week. We are seeking a skilled CNC Setup Machinist to join a well-organized, climate-controlled manufacturing environment operating 30+ CNC machines. This role is ideal for an experienced machinist who can independently set up and optimize CNC equipment and support production across multiple machines. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T Adjust speeds, feeds, tooling, and CNC programs as needed Perform in-process and first-piece inspections using precision measuring tools Support production by working across multiple machines as required Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Requirements High school diploma or GED 3+ years of CNC setup experience in a metal manufacturing environment Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills Experience with micrometers, calipers, and other inspection tools Ability to independently set up machines without step-by-step instruction Preferred Experience with Okuma, Mazak, or similar CNC platforms Exposure to CNC programming (Mastercam, Fusion 360) Fixturing or tooling experience This is a hands-on, production-focused role with strong long-term stability and opportunities for growth within a high-performing machining environment.
