Busy orthopedic surgeon’s office in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking a dependable, motivated, and organized Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our team.

Pre-med students are preferred, but not required.

The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced medical office, and eager to learn. This position combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities and offers the opportunity to gain extensive hands-on experience in an orthopedic practice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and begin patient chart notes by accurately entering information from patient forms and obtaining additional information directly from patients
• Room patients and prepare them for examination by the physician
• Assist the physician with injections and other in-office procedures
• Assist with casting, bracing, and postoperative care of surgical patients
• Create and process patient orders as directed by the physician, including physical therapy, imaging, laboratory testing, and other treatment-related orders
• Review incoming faxes and accurately route physical therapy reports, laboratory results, imaging reports, and other medical records to the appropriate patient charts
• Coordinate and schedule appointments for incoming referrals
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling and general office needs
• Maintain accurate and organized patient records
• Communicate professionally with patients, referring offices, insurance companies, imaging facilities, physical therapy offices, and other healthcare providers
• Assist with additional clinical and administrative duties as needed

Previous medical office or Medical Assistant experience is preferred but may not be required for the right candidate. Pre-med students and individuals interested in pursuing a career in healthcare are encouraged to apply.

Schedule

Full-Time, Monday–Friday
