About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for its Information Technology Department. The CIO will be responsible for establishing city-wide strategic policies, and planning, and will play a key role in the development and design of information needs in alignment with the company's strategic, business, and capital planning processes. This includes long-term planning to guide capital investments, governance, and the implementation of goals and objectives. The successful candidate will have a proven record of leadership, fiscal stewardship, innovation, and relationship-building, and will be expected to partner closely with the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams. Applicants for the CIO position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, computer sciences, or a related field, with a Master’s degree in public administration or a similar advanced degree being desirable. A minimum of ten years of experience in the information technology field, including at least seven years in a management role within a large IT operation or program, is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong familiarity with the Council-Manager form of government and be adept at addressing priorities through thoughtful leadership and policies. The role demands a strategic leader who can provide guidance and leadership to implement long-range IT strategies and ensure that the department's functions, such as customer technical support, cybersecurity, and application development, are in line with the company's overall goals and objectives.
