Assistant Controller

We’re working with clients in the Dallas area who are looking for experienced Assistant Controllers to support accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls. Key Responsibilities Support the Controller in managing day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules Review general ledger activity and ensure financial statements are accurate and timely Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting Review work prepared by accounting staff and help manage close deadlines Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Support audits, tax requests, compliance reporting, and other external reporting needs Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting Partner with finance and operations teams to resolve accounting issues and improve reporting Help drive process improvements, system enhancements, and accounting workflow efficiency Required Qualifications Accounting degree 7+ years of progressive accounting experience Prior experience as an Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accounting Manager, or similar role Strong month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting background Experience reviewing accounting work and managing close deadlines Working knowledge of internal controls, audits, and accounting process improvement Strong Excel and reporting skills Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications CPA or public accounting experience Prior supervisory or team leadership experience #J-18808-Ljbffr Benchmark Search
