Assistant Controller, Hybrid (165K-170K+Bonus)

Location: Dallas and Hybrid (3 days in office) Pays: 165K-170K+ Bonus Position Overview We are looking to fill an Assistant Controller with a large PE Backed service company based in Dallas, The ideal candidate must enjoy transformation and putting process and procedures in place . This role plays a key leadership role in overseeing daily accounting operations and the month‑end close. This position partners closely with finance and operations to ensure accurate financial reporting across the general ledger and project accounting, while strengthening internal controls and scalable processes as the company grows. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on accounting leader with strong GAAP expertise, ERP experience, and a continuous improvement mindset. Supervisory Responsibilities Lead and oversee accounting team performance, workload, and development Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and process excellence Key Responsibilities Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting Own and manage the month‑end close process, including review of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and cutoff procedures Maintain integrity of the general ledger, including assets, liabilities, revenues, expenses, and inventory Partner with operations to reconcile physical inventory, validate inventory adjustments, analyze material flows, and ensure accurate cost of goods sold Support internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and coordination with auditors Provide leadership, coaching, and development for accounting staff Serve as a financial and accounting resource for operations and cross‑functional teams Review financial statements and underlying data for completeness, accuracy, and GAAP compliance Ensure strong internal controls and adherence to company policies and compliance requirements Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements and automation opportunities Assist the Senior Director of Accounting and VP of Finance with technical accounting matters, special projects, and research Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills & Abilities Experience with ERP/MRP systems required (JDE preferred) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong MS Office skills Deep knowledge of GAAP and month‑end close best practices Proven ability to evaluate, improve, and scale accounting processes Strong attention to detail with the ability to clearly communicate accounting concepts to non‑finance stakeholders Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; MBA preferred 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in distribution, project‑based, or retail environments Active CPA is highly preferred If you are interested in this job or other Accounting and Finance career opportunities from LHH please email Rami Muhanna at View email address on click.appcast.io or visit our website at #J-18808-Ljbffr LHH
