Chicago/Milwaukee Region - On-Site with Regional Travel | Full-Time
 
About the Role



 
We are a well-established Midwest based heat treating business serving the fastener, tooling, automotive, defense, and industrial manufacturing sectors. 



 
As we continue to grow, we're looking for a strategic, experienced and result oriented Director of Sales to lead our sales team and commercial efforts — someone equally comfortable driving new business acquisition strategy with the sales team as they are deepening relationships with our key customers.



 
This is a high-impact role with direct influence on company revenue strategy and the opportunity to build something meaningful.



 
What You'll Do



 
· Execute and optimize a sales strategy targeting new customers in key verticals (automotive, defense, heavy equipment, and general industrial manufacturing)
· Work with sales team to drive market share growth of our portfolio of existing accounts, acting as a trusted advisor, senior sales leader and commercial contact. 
· Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities through developing sales team doing cold outreach, networking, trade shows, and referrals.
· Collaborate with operations, quality and engineering to scope customer requirements, develop quotes, and ensure on-time delivery commitments.
· Build and maintain a healthy pipeline using CRM tools; provide accurate forecasting to leadership.
· Represent the company at industry events, customer visits, and trade associations.
· Over time, build and mentor a growing sales team to drive both top line and bottom-line growth. 
· Manage digital platforms and CRM tools (i.e. Hubspot, Apollo, etc.)



 



 
What We're Looking For



 
· Five + years of B2B industrial services or manufacturing sales experience, with at least three years in a leadership role overseeing front line sales reps.
· Direct experience in heat treating, metal finishing, forging, castings, or closely adjacent manufacturing services strongly preferred.
· Proven track record of winning new accounts while retaining and growing existing ones.
· Strong technical aptitude — ability to read drawings, understand industrial processes, and speak credibly with engineers and procurement teams.
· Leader who thrives in fast paced environment and brings structure and innovation to the sales team.
· Comfortable with regular travel throughout the Midwest (most travel regional with few overnights) and occasional out of region or national travel (8-10 times a year)
· Proficiency with CRM platforms and pipeline management
· Process oriented and ability to lead team to drive outreach and activity with customers and prospects. 



 



 
Compensation & Benefits



 
· Base Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 depending on experience.
· Variable Compensation: $30,000 – $60,000 at plan (uncapped upside for overachievers)
· Total Target Compensation: $120,000 – $170,000+
· Full benefits package including health, dental, vision, paid time off and 401(k).
