Clinical Assistant Professor

Overview We are recruiting a full‑time Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate, or Clinical Professor specializing in palliative care. The position will be on the Clinical Research Division of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and an appropriate division at the University of Washington, and will involve an approximate 80:20 split between clinical service and academic pursuits. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit, National Cancer Institute‑designated cancer center located in Seattle. The role will focus primarily on ambulatory clinical care of patients receiving palliative care at a world‑renowned comprehensive cancer center. The Palliative Care team is committed to providing outstanding patient care and advancing research trials. Responsibilities may also include administrative, research, and instructional duties; oversight of trainees during outpatient and inpatient clinical activities; and giving lectures. The position is based at the South Lake Union main campus, with a possibility of seeing patients at community clinics. The incumbent will also be expected to recruit and care for trial patients. Responsibilities Ambulatory clinical care of palliative‑care patients. Participation in administrative, research, and instructional duties. Oversight of trainees in outpatient and inpatient settings. Delivery of lectures and educational activities. Recruitment and care of trial patients. Qualifications MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent). Board certification (or board eligibility for current fellows) in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Candidates with primary training in internal medicine are preferred; applicants from other training backgrounds may apply, provided they are board certified (or eligible) in their primary area. Eligibility for medical licensure in Washington State. The ideal candidate has a record of and primary interest in palliative care. Anticipated Start Date October 2026 (flexible). Benefits Salary range: $263,658.00–$284,224.00 for Clinical Assistant Professor, $316,747.00–$339,553.00 for Clinical Associate Professor, and $327,279.00–$368,189.00 for Clinical Professor.
