Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent full-time equivalent Registered Nurse experience within the past 3 years
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current Registered Nurse license valid in the state where care is provided
• Basic Life Support certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
• Demonstrated experience with cardiac rhythm recognition and telemetry monitoring
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a cardiac stepdown environment
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive registered nursing care for patients requiring cardiac stepdown monitoring
• Recognize and interpret cardiac rhythms and promptly report significant changes in patient condition
• Assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized nursing care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established clinical standards
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac status, laboratory results, telemetry data, and response to therapy
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate safe, high-quality patient care
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support a safe, patient-centered care environment
