About the Position

Job Title:  Pharmacy Technician – Outpatient (Contract)
Location:  San Diego, CA, 92127
Duration:  13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift—5x8 Hours (08:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday)
Weekly Pay: $1150-$1200/week

Job Overview:

We are seeking experienced Outpatient Pharmacy Technicians to join a fast-paced healthcare setting in San Diego, CA. This role involves supporting pharmacy operations, processing medication authorizations, and ensuring accurate and timely patient service.   Key Responsibilities:

• Process medication prior authorizations and prescriptions
• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications
• Ensure accuracy in medication labeling and documentation
• Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies
• Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with regulations
• Support daily pharmacy operations in an outpatient setting

Requirements

• CHPT and TCH certifications (required)
• Experience in medication authorization processing
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy workflows and outpatient setting
• Experience with EPIC or EPIC/Cerner EMR systems (recent experience required)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Additional Requirements:

• Must have own computer for telework (if applicable)
• Minimum 1.5+ years of continuous experience in specialty
• Travel candidates: 1 year total travel experience required
• Must provide 1 supervisory reference
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed
• Valid certifications required
