Registered Nurse (Cath Lab)

Vista Medical Center is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated RN who is eager to broaden their skills and gain valuable experience in a community hospital recognized as a certified Center of Excellence in multiple critical areas of patient care. Responsibilities: Assist cardiologists in performing diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and interventional procedures. Provide high-quality nursing care, including assessing and managing patient care in the Cardiac Cath Lab and interventional radiology as needed. Closely monitor patients for improvements or complications, administering medications as indicated, including moderate sedation during procedures. Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of diagnostic and interventional catheterization, including circulating, monitoring, and recording procedures. Interpret 12-lead EKGs, manage cardiac medications, and provide emergency management of cardiac patients. Adhere to current clinical practice guidelines in cardiology and support secondary prevention efforts. Perform comprehensive nursing assessments to gather data and identify patient needs. Pre-procedure responsibilities include ensuring all clinically important aspects are checked before the patient enters the Cath Lab. Assist physicians during catheterization procedures, angioplasties, pacemaker implantation, and other cardiac procedures. Understand and operate special devices, including intra-aortic balloon pumps, rotablators, AngioJets, thrombus aspiration systems, cutting balloons, and filter wires. Qualifications, Desired Skills, and Experiences: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a cardiology catheterization lab is preferred; ICU experience is also preferred. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required. Experience in advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation and moderate sedation is required.
