Job Description SUMMARY Manages the general accounting program for the organization’s North American entities including accounting of assets, liabilities, income, expense and capital accounts and preparation of profit and loss and balance sheet statements. Plans, coordinates and oversees work assignments and verifies the work of direct reports. Manages the day-to-day treasury functions as well as cash forecasting. Manages the execution of key elements of the compliance monitory, including but not limited to travel expense management, validation of purchase approvals. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff. Duties Supervises personnel in the implementation and maintenance of an accounting system that addresses to maintain all records of assets, liabilities, income, expenses as well as additional miscellaneous financial transaction records. Pro-actively reviews Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable subledgers to ensure current and accurate reporting of our balances and proactive response to potential risk to cash flow management, customer, and vendor relations. Reviews customer terms and manages fiscal responsibility and risk mitigation along with customer relations. Works closely with Purchase to Pay processes to ensure timely receiving of product and prompt payment of accurate liabilities. Participates in the Month End/ Year End Closing Process in accordance with the Pfeiffer Vacuum Group Accounting Manual and Financial Controlling Manual (IFRS). Responsible for Intercompany account reconciliations. Works closely with all Accounting and Controlling functions to ensure accurate financial reporting. Provides support to the Regional Controller as liaison to the external Tax Advisor for accurate and timely filing of federal and state tax returns. Provides support to the Regional Controller as liaison for all US government agencies, including but not limited to Federal and State Tax Authorities, which includes to address all tax notices as well as required state tax and compliance filings. Key support to the Regional Controller as liaison for all external and internal schedules supporting Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable related accounts and coordination of completion of audit requests. Manages and directs the accounts payable and/or accounts receivable programs for the organization including the coding of invoices and the checking of prices, quantities and extensions; the posting of receivables to proper accounts and the preparation of transmittal documents and the coding of data for inputting to financial data processing system. Business Partner for all Department Managers in close collaboration with the Regional Controller in the coordination for administrative matters managed by the Accounting Department. Key support to the Regional Controller as liaison to business partners providing administrative services to Region North America (e.g, expense management provider, rental car management, credit card administration etc.). Engages in critical and confidential aspects of accounting. Supports business wide initiatives such as LEAN; ISO: System Upgrades etc. Documentation and continuous monitoring of established processes and controls. The person in this job must be able to travel by air and drive to other company locations. Accordingly, a valid driver’s license and driving record that is satisfactory to the Company must be demonstrated at hire and periodically thereafter. Qualifications Strong organizational and creative problem-solving skills required. Must be able to manage multiple concurrent projects. In depth knowledge of company products is highly desired. Management experience of a small general accounting group is necessary. Demonstrated capabilities in the use of sophisticated financial software is required as is the prior experience in analysis and reporting of detailed financial metrics. Education and/or Experience B.S./B.A. degree, 5 or more years of related experience is necessary. Language Skills The ability to have strong communication skills in English verbally and in writing is essential. Reports, email correspondence, schedules, are all typical requirements of this position and must be effectively and professionally communicated. Mathematical Skills Excellent math and analytical skills required. Reasoning Ability Must be able to multitask and operate in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a disciplined approach to oversee employer and customers’ needs. Works on assignments that are analytical by nature. Must be able to solve both practical and complex problems and deal with a variety of factors. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid driver’s license is required. TOOLS AND/OR EQUIPMENT This position uses a computer extensively with demonstrated abilities in the use of Microsoft products as well as other common office type equipment. Secondary duties with added requirements will be assigned from time to time. WORK ENVIRONMENT This position may work in various environments including office, factory or home settings.
