RN Corrections Registered Nurse (PRN Pool)

Registered NurseRegistered Nurse for a facility that houses individuals detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Florence, Arizona. Registered Nurses in this Health Services facility practice in a collaborative environment, providing ambulatory, emergency, mental health, and infirmary care.PRN Pool position mixed days, nights. Must be available for orientation/training which consists of 2 weeks Mon-Fri and 2-3 days per week thereafter until trained.Daily DutiesPerform intake screening and physical exams to identify conditions requiring referral or treatment.Provide care for common acute problems via nursing guidelinesComplete nursing rounds for patients in infirmary care and segregated housingResponsibilitiesProvides direct care to patientsPerforms prescreening and intake screening of patients newly arrived at the facility.Uses established intake tools for gathering subjective and objective data, referring abnormal findings or responses to a medical, dental, and/or behavioral health providerPerforms sick calls, assessing and treating acute problemsRefers patients to an NP/PA, physician, behavioral health provider, and/or dentistPerforms physical examinationsProvides clinical supervision to Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurses and unlicensed assistive personnelAdministers medications as ordered. (via the oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous, topical, ophthalmic, and other enteral and parenteral routes)Performs various treatments such as wound care, vital sign checks, electrocardiograms, etc. as ordered by a medical, dental, and behavioral health provider or registered nurse.Collects laboratory specimens and performs point-of-care testing or prepares specimens for laboratory processing. Takes appropriate action on lab results received.Respond to medical emergencies and render emergency care to stabilize patients and prevent deterioration, and transfer patients to appropriate levels of care.May be required to participate in involuntary, court-ordered care.QualificationsCurrent, full and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in Arizona or licensed in a compact state that allows practice in ArizonaMinimum one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse in a hospital, medical office or residential settingExperience in a detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting is preferredGraduate from a nursing program accredited by The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)Graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing must possess a current, full, active and unrestricted registration to meet this requirement.BenefitsPTOPaid Sick daysHourly Health BenefitMDPerm LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
