We are looking for a Contract Accoutant with ASC 805 accounting experience to support the implementation of purchasing accounting in accordance with ASC 805. This is a 6-month contract opportunity with a hybrid work schedule in Louisville, KY.

ASC 805 Accounting

• Support the implementation of accounting in accordance with ASC 805.

• Prepare and record Day 1 Accounting journal entries.

• Assist with opening balance sheets.

• Support the recording of debt extinguishment, equity issuance, and capital structure changes.

• Document accounting conclusions and prepare supporting workpapers.

Valuation Support

• Work closely with third-party valuation specialists.

• Assist in compiling data required for valuation analyses.

• Validate and reconcile valuation outputs to accounting records.

• Support the allocation of enterprise value to assets and liabilities.

• Coordinate updates resulting from valuation adjustments.

ERP Assistance

• Record ASC 805 accounting entries within the ERP system (Infor LN or other ERP).

• Validate data loads and opening balances.

• Assist with chart of accounts updates and financial mapping.

• Reconcile ERP balances to supporting schedules following implementation.

Financial Reporting and Reconciliations

• Prepare account reconciliations supporting ASC 805 accounting.

• Reconcile legacy balances to new basis of accounting.

• Analyze and resolve balance sheet differences.

• Support preparation of financial statement disclosures.

Audit and Advisory Support

• Respond to auditor requests.

• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.

• Coordinate information requests from external auditors and advisors.

• Assist with technical accounting memoranda.

Cross Functional Coordination

• Partner with Corporate Accounting, Treasury, FP& A, Tax, Legal, IT, and external consultants.

• Participate in project meetings and status updates.

• Track open accounting issues through resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

• 5+ years of accounting experience.

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

• Experience with business combinations or purchase accounting is preferred.

• Experience with ERP systems (Infor LN, Microsoft AX).

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA preferred.

• Big Four or national public accounting experience.

• Experience supporting business combinations (ASC 805), valuation projects, and debt restructurings.

• Experience working with external auditors.
