This role focuses on enterprise level automation, ensuring reliable system performance, rapid troubleshooting, and continuous improvement aligned with operational needs and safety standards.Job Responsibilities:Design, program, and commission PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).Develop and support HMIs and SCADA systems (Ignition preferred).Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues in live production environments.Support plant operations to improve uptime, quality, and performance.Assist in execution of automation and capital improvement projects.Collaborate with plant personnel, maintenance, and engineering teams.Maintain and improve control system documentation and standards.Apply safety standards and best practices to all automation solutions.Identify and implement process improvements using automation technologies.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley or Siemens).Experience supporting industrial control systems in a manufacturing environment.3 years of relevant experience (a combination of education and experience equivalent to 3 years in a related field will be considered.).Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Preferred Qualifications:Ignition SCADA experience.Basic understanding of system integration (OPC, SQL, networking).Experience with industrial robotics (e.g., Yaskawa Motoman / MLX).Exposure to AGVs/AMRs or automated material handling systems.AutoCAD 2D experience.Core Competencies:Technical expertise in industrial automation and controls.Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking.Effective communication and collaboration with plant teams.High attention to detail and documentation discipline.Continuous improvement mindset.Key Competencies:Build Customer Satisfaction.Initiate Action.Adapt and Change.Innovate.Coach and Support.Deliver Compelling Communication.Work Shift: 8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM.Shaw Industries is an equal opportunity employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
