Plant Engineer

Plant EngineerShaw Industries is searching for a Plant Engineer to provide leadership, direction and support for all Engineering, Reliability, and Maintenance activities for Plant 81.Responsibilities:Effectively manage maintenance personnel.Establish key performance indicators for your team that align with the plant's and division's goals.Oversee plant energy intensity and investigate anomalies.Develop and implement a schedule for completing projects for plant operations in a timely manner based on priority needs given by higher management.Order supplies and equipment and determine and schedule delivery times.Oversee major downtime in the plant.Approve maintenance department requisitions.Efficiently expedite and assign work orders.Manage outside contractors/vendors for plant project on status update, problem or assistance.Assist staff operations with project development and proposal (i.e. collect quotes, determine priorities, assist in determining requirements).Supervise and implement a preventive/predictive maintenance program.Provide quotes for in-house maintenance labor and/or material.Meet with plant manager to review projects and activities when necessary.Oversee work on boiler room.Follow SMS management responsibilities as required in the SMS procedures manual.Follow EHS management responsibilities as defined in the EHS procedures (i.e. Hold first day back safety meetings, ensure maintenance associates wear appropriate PPE, etc.).Administer departmental and plant policies and procedures.Promote and instruct safe work habits and good housekeeping practices and assure that they are observed.Interview maintenance openings and work with human resources in hiring and training new maintenance associates.Serve as a member of the QIT and other PRIDE teams as required.Qualifications:Four year degree in Engineering or related field.Preferred experience in Industrial Maintenance and/or EngineeringWillingness to work off shift including weekends and holidays as needed.Required Competencies:Demonstrate Strategic InfluenceDrive ResultsBuild a Successful TeamBuild Trusting RelationshipsShaw benefits include:Medical, dental, vision insurance and Pet insuranceLife insurance and disability coverageTuition reimbursementEmployee assistance programHealth savings accountPaid Time OffParental Leave401K and Retirement PlansProduct discounts for employeesGym membership discountsAdoption assistanceShaw Family Health Center (Dalton, GA, and Cartersville, GA, locations)And much more.Work Shift8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AMShaw Industries is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
