Job Details Location: 300 Kearney St., Fremont, CA 94538 Camp Dates: 6/8/2026 (Mon) - 7/31/2026 (Fri) – additional setup weekend, breakdown weekend, and orientation date Camp Hours: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm (actual shifts will vary) Hourly Wage: The hourly rate for this position is $22.00 - $24.50 per hour. The pay range listed here is what Steve & Kate’s Camp in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening. Actual compensation offers within this range will depend on experience and other relevant factors. Overview At Steve & Kate's Camp, we’re pioneers in self-directed learning. We’re looking for meticulous multitaskers with strong time-management skills to run our on-site food program. As a Food Ops staff member, you’ll organize, submit food orders, and maintain kitchen and food service items using hygienic practices, while supporting campers and colleagues. There is no cooking required; meals are fully prepared elsewhere and simply prepared and served on site. Some interaction with campers is expected. Job Responsibilities You’ll spend most of your day preparing and serving snacks and lunch, ordering and managing food-service items and supplies, and keeping food-related equipment and spaces sanitary. Actual cooking is minimal; all entrees are ordered as fully prepared. Paid training and development are provided. Maintain and operate food-service items and supplies Prepare and serve snacks and lunch; clean up after service Order and manage food-service items; ensure sanitary conditions Interact with campers and staff as needed Qualifications / How to Know You’re Right for This Role Love of food and strong systems, organization, and cleanliness Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure Comfort in communicating with staff, campers, and parents; willingness to grow in this area Stamina to engage with 4–12-year-olds; ability to lift up to 40 pounds (as needed) Interest in sharing knowledge and learning from others Job Requirements Minimum age: 18 At least 2 months of experience working with camp-age children (1 year preferred) First Aid & CPR Certification prior to Day 1 (additional certifications may be required at some locations) ServeSafe Food Handler Certification (provided if needed) Consent to email or text communications from Steve & Kate’s Physical Requirements This position requires compliance with applicable immunization, health and safety requirements and the ability to work in a school-year camp setting. The role involves supervising children, delivering programs, and ensuring safety in accordance with Steve & Kate’s Camp and client-site policies.
