About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year; first-timers accepted; Charge Nurse experience preferred License: GA or Compact RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Experience in cardiac telemetry - Skills in cardiac drips management (no titration) - Understanding of telemetry monitoring - Proficiency in EKG interpretation Description: Minimum experience of 1 year is required. First-time travelers are accepted. Charge Nurse experience is preferred. Patient population includes adults to geriatrics. Required certifications are BLS and ACLS. General skills needed include post-myocardial infarction care, heart failure management, handling arrhythmias, and monitoring chest pain. Experience with peripheral vascular disease and peritoneal dialysis is necessary. Telemetry skills, including EKG and Doppler, are required. The patient ratio is 1:5 in a unit with an average daily census of 16 patients. Familiarity with the Epic charting system is necessary. Scrub color is navy blue. Floating to other units may be required as needed. No call requirements are in place. Travelers are expected to work one major holiday if it falls within the assignment period. If two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work both. If three major holidays fall during the assignment, travelers are expected to work two of the holidays. Full compliance is required to start on time. Candidates will be reviewed to determine clinical fit. Travelers will be expected to manage a variety of cardiac conditions and treatments. Skills in non-invasive airway management, phlebotomy, and wound care are essential.
