Emish Restaurant is a Ukrainian and European restaurant located in Federal Way, WA. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Assistant Cook to join our kitchen team and support our chefs with daily food preparation and kitchen operations.
The ideal candidate is responsible, organized, willing to learn, and able to work efficiently as part of a team. Previous kitchen experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
What You'll Do- Assist cooks and chefs with daily food preparation
- Wash, peel, cut, and prepare vegetables and other ingredients
- Prepare ingredients according to recipes and kitchen instructions
- Assist with preparation of Ukrainian and European dishes
- Help with basic cooking tasks as directed by the Chef or Sous Chef
- Prepare sauces, salads, side dishes, and other food items as assigned
- Keep food preparation areas clean and organized
- Assist with stocking and organizing kitchen supplies and ingredients
- Properly label, store, and rotate food products
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and preparation areas
- Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning when needed
- Help maintain a safe and organized kitchen environment
- Assist other kitchen team members during busy service
- Follow instructions from the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen supervisors
- Complete opening and closing duties as assigned
- Help minimize food waste and use ingredients efficiently
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and team-oriented attitude
Work Schedule: Full-time or part-time; schedule will be discussed during the interview. Weekend and holiday availability is required.
Pay & Compensation: $20-22/h + tips (Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications).

Full-time employees are eligible for competitive employee benefits including paid sick leave (1 hour per 40 hours worked), partial employer-covered medical insurance (75% for full-time employees), and paid vacation: 1 week after 1 year of employment and 2 weeks after 2 years.
