Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit. Ensure patient safety and comfort while managing multiple complex cases with a focus on telemetry competencies.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' conditions and monitor cardiovascular status using telemetry equipment.
• Administer medications, including IV antibiotics and Heparin drips, following hospital protocols.
• Perform procedures such as wound vac management, tube feeds, NG tubes, and colostomies.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient information and clinical interventions in the EMR system.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and certification requirements, including BLS and telemetry competencies.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with at least 2 years of hospital experience.
• Proven telemetry competency with the ability to manage 6-7 patients depending on shift.
• Experience with urology, bowel care, and complex surgical procedures preferred.
• Strong communication skills and engaging personality suitable for a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, energetic team setting.
• Certification in BLS required prior to start.
