Registered Nurse - Step Down Unit

Job Summary The Registered Nurse – Stepdown Unit provides specialized care for patients transitioning from intensive care to a lower acuity setting. This role requires proficiency in monitoring telemetry/EKG rhythms, administering medications, and managing patients with complex medical conditions. Nurses in this unit deliver high-quality care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe recovery and continuity of treatment. Key Responsibilities Monitor and interpret telemetry and EKG rhythms accurately Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans Administer medications and treatments safely and effectively Provide transitional care for patients moving from ICU to stepdown Perform IV insertion, wound care, and catheter care Document patient information in EMR systems (Epic, Cerner) Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery, and health management Required Qualifications Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical, telemetry, or stepdown nursing Strong knowledge of nursing protocols and transitional care procedures Excellent communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in stepdown or progressive care units Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr
