Job Overview The Planner provides input and oversight of routings and bills of material (BOMs) in support of material resource planning (ERP) requirements. As a Planner you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and working with the production team to support the scheduling of orders and scheduled customer commitments; working closely with internal departments such as manufacturing, procurement, materials, engineering, quality, and logistics to ensure timely communication of lead times, schedule impacts and changes, material shortages, etc. Responsibilities Developing, implementing, and improving the Routers Creating and distributing the Work Order packages, consisting of Pick Tickets and Routers, per the Planning schedule Monitor and systemically close each router step when completed Confers with department management to determine the status of assigned projects Expedites operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions When necessary, informs Purchasing to expedite specific material in order to meet delivery commitments Ensures system integrity through maintenance of system records, routers, and work orders Monitors ERP, shortage lists, and related indicators to determine 100% material availability and to ensure 100% on‑time customer delivery Participate in teams to help make necessary improvements and changes to all process‑related issues Attends cross‑functional activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering to ensure a smooth flow of materials through the production processes Identifies and communicates a detailed status on any material planning items impacting the production schedule (e.g., part shortages) Ensure that work‑flows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations Qualifications Experience and Education: High School Diploma/GED required Bachelor’s Degree preferred 1 - 2 years of experience in planning and/or production control preferred but not required Experience utilizing an ERP/MRP system Work Environmental and Physical Demands: Employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls Overtime may be necessary as the workload dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends, nights, and/or holidays Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. may be required Job will generally be performed in an office environment but may require travel. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply Candidates will be required to show a driving abstract with a clean driving history for travel between the NCI facility locations and client offices as required. A valid driver’s license is necessary Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise: Good investigative and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail Ability to think logically and methodically Good interpersonal and organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Decision‑making ability coupled with the ability to work independently and proactively Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Understanding of standard manufacturing and safety compliance processes In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the employer will provide reasonable accommodations to meet the work environmental and physical demands listed above. PPE includes safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut‑resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hat, and dust masks. Failure to comply with Nikkiso Cryo safety requirements will result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination.
